MFEI SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION, ELIGIBILITY & IMPORTANT DATES
SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY
Scholarship applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for an award:
Be a current high school senior or returning MFEI scholar
Plan to attend a 4-year, 2-year, or technical school full time in the coming fall
Have graduated or will graduate from an Oakland Unified School District public or charter school, or from a Pleasanton Unified School District school
For Oakland Students: Have attended school in Oakland Unified for at least 2 years at any time K-12
Complete FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application with a Student Aid Report by February 1*
*Students who meet all requirements but are not eligible to submit a FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application should still contact MFEI at info@marcusfoster.org
MFEI SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
MFEI annually administers a community invested pool of scholarships to students in Oakland and across the Bay Area, in support of their enrollment in a postsecondary school or training program. Upon completing our scholarship application, students are considered for all MFEI scholarship awards for which they meet eligibility. Scholarship awardees also have the opportunity to participate in RESET, our annual hack-a-thon event, where scholars team up with industry professionals to design social impact proposals for community and systems change
