ARTIST STATEMENT
“If the common good is to be restored, education must be reconnected to these public moral roots.” words from Robert B. Reich’s The Common Good. I imagine this quote when I think of “Quality Teaching.” It is the education that impacts students to learn outside of concepts from a textbook, or how to raise their hand to go to the restroom without saying “can I” instead of “may I.” Quality teaching is what makes us human, see the world in color, and allow our minds to explore vast topics. I have experienced a heavy amount of teachers throughout my time in K-12 education, but my experiences in my Junior and Senior year stood out to me. They taught me to think in ways that expand past the path that I think I am supposed to take.
